The Best Affordable Hotels In Nigeria, According To Reviews

Yes, we’re pushing you to get out of town for the holidays. Why not? You’ve been busy most of the year and you should take a break you’ll enjoy.

Of course, we want you to save money while you have fun, so just like we rounded up affordable holiday packages for you, we’ve taken some time to pick out the best budget hotels you can find around Nigeria.

How we chose:

  • Only hotels with a minimum of three stars and ten detailed reviews on Jumia Travel were considered. You’re going to have to trust people at some point.
  • Google review scores are included to help you make a balanced decision.
  • We define ‘budget’ as a maximum of 25,000 naira (without discount) for a standard room. Generally, the lower the prices go, the more likely it is that you won’t have a good stay.
  • Where there was a tie in review scores, we picked the hotel with cheaper rooms or a higher number of reviews and/or features (e.g. complimentary breakfast, a gym, free WiFi etc).
  • The hotel pictured is not included. We’re not even sure where that is, it’s a stock photo.

Now that all that is out of the way, these are your absolute best affordable hotel options in Abuja and Lagos, according to guests:

2. Greens Manor, Surulere

Google review score: 3.7 out of 5.

3. King Celia Hotel & Suites, Jibowu, Yaba

2. Greens Manor, Victoria Island

The fine print: On paper, this two-star hotel is an unbelievable bargain — it’s in a central location, well rated for cleanliness and a home-like feel, includes breakfast and offers a standard room for 19,500 naira. We’re tempted to rate it higher.

3. Ikoyi Fairview Apartments, Dolphin Estate

Good to know: This unusual three-star facility has a mix of hotel rooms and serviced apartments. Its studio flats come with a kitchenette stocked with a blender, fridge, cooker, microwave and utensils. If you’re not the cooking kind, there’s a restaurant. Laundry and car wash services are free.

Jumia Travel review score: 8.5 out of 10
